10 years of outdoor fun for a good cause
Presented by Intact Insurance, the 10th anniversary of the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation’s Winter Triathlon was held in Montreal’s Maisonneuve Park in February 2016.
Despite the mild weather that compromised the cross-country skiing component of the event, the runners and skaters had all the energy and sun they needed to enjoy themselves and make it a day for the memory books.
A record 90 teams took part in the relay race and participated in the fundraising challenge, which culminated in the presentation of the coveted Pierre Boivin Trophy for the team with the highest total donations.
With motivation at an all-time high this year, over $644,000 was raised for the mothers-to-be and children of Sainte-Justine, bringing the total netted since the kickoff in 2007 to a very cool $4.25 million.
Thank you and congratulations to one and all!
Lighting the Way
A brunch with international flair in support of Sainte-Justine
The globetrotting theme for the 9th edition of Lighting the Way, presented by Quebecor, was Brunch Around the World. Some 450 guests turned out for the family-oriented event at the Monument-National in November 2015, with honorary chairs Emmanuel Bilodeau and Édith Cochrane.
The array of cultural and culinary activities ensured that everyone in attendance had plenty to do, see and taste.
The highlight of the day’s festivities was a play based on Jules Verne’s Around the World in 80 Days by Advienne que pourra, a local theatre troupe that blends dramatic arts, dance and music.
The event proved to be a resounding success, with a total of $90,000 raised for the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation.
A heartfelt thank you to the organizing committee and all of the participants, volunteers, donors and partners who once again helped us “light the way” this year.
A sparkling 15th edition
More than 1,000 young members of the business, media and artistic community gathered at the prestigious Windsor Ballrooms on March 18, 2016, for the 15th anniversary of the Sainte-Justine Ball. Together, they shattered the initial fundraising goal of $150,000 and finished the evening with a record total of over $210,000 for the mothers-to-be and children of Sainte-Justine. Nicely done!
The organizing committee and honorary patron Francisco Randez worked extra hard to make this year’s Ball a success. The main event was presented by Bloomberg and the preceding cocktail party was sponsored by National Bank.
The music, gourmet food stations and various activities were extremely popular with guests, who kept the party going strong until the wee hours – all for the very best of causes.
Thank you to our Young Leaders Circle, the organizing committee and our cherished partners, volunteers, ambassadors and donors for once again making this one-of-a-kind event a smash hit.
The Bake Sale
A sweet start to summer!
In June 2015, about 2,000 people came out to celebrate the beginning of summer at Mohawk Park in Town of Mount Royal during The Bake Sale, an event that continues to grow in popularity among local dessert lovers of all ages.
Attendees indulged in lemonade, cupcakes, cookies and other treats while they enjoyed a wide range of family-friendly activities, including face painting and games organized specifically for the occasion.
The result: proceeds just shy of $30,000 – not to mention a slew of smiles and a tonne of fun! Thank you for doing your part to make The Bake Sale a sweet success.
A madcap relay race in the heart of downtown Montreal
Spring showers did nothing to dampen the spirits of some 400 participants at the 5th annual Urban Duathlon, presented by National Bank in May 2015. This zany, excitement-filled relay race took place once again in the middle of the city’s business district.
The Urban Duathlon pits teams of three against one another in a friendly competition to see who emerges victorious in this combination BIXI/foot race.
More than 1,000 spectators lined the streets to watch these dedicated members of the business community in action. The only things more inspiring than the race itself were the highly imaginative outfits each team chose to wear.
With some 130 teams registered and a minimum $750 raised per team, the Foundation was able to direct more than $365,000 to Sainte-Justine’s neonatal unit.
Congratulations and thank you to everyone involved!
Warming hearts and indulging taste buds
More than 350 executives, entrepreneurs and professionals gathered at the elegant Chalet du Mont-Royal in June 2015 to raise their glasses to the health of Sainte-Justine’s kids and mothers-to-be.
This 5th annual event, which featured a cocktail reception, a gourmet feast, an auction and a jazz ensemble, was presented by National Bank and Bloomberg and emceed by Marc Hervieux.
The result: $125,000 donated to the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation.
A huge thank you to the organizing committee, partners and donors who made this an unforgettable evening indeed.
