Our Forward-Looking Donors

Every year, thousands of people take action with a long-term view in order to ensure the best possible care is available today and for many tomorrows to come. Their enduring commitment is a symbol of hope for all the mothers, children and professionals in the Sainte-Justine community, and we would like to express our deepest and sincerest gratitude for what they make possible. Thank you!

Leaders for Little Ones

Pulling together to push forward

Created in 2010, Leaders for Little Ones is committed to building a better, brighter and healthier future for the children and mothers-to-be of Sainte-Justine.

Leaders for Little Ones’ mission is to establish a tradition of annual individual gifts of $1,000 or more, with the specific goal of bolstering support for the hospital’s priority projects and accelerating their implementation, year after year.

Thanks to their hard work, our dream of improving health outcomes using the medicine of tomorrow is within our grasp. These faithful donors make it possible for Sainte-Justine to invest in new approaches in research, teaching and patient care to find better ways to heal more children.

A big thank you goes out to all our Leaders! Their steadfast commitment means a steady stream of support for the most treasured gift of all for the young patients and families of Sainte-Justine: the gift of health.

Marie-France Geoffroy

A touching tribute to her father

Marie-France Geoffroy’s entire family has close ties to Sainte-Justine. Her father, Dr. Guy Geoffroy, was one of the founders of the neurology department. She gave birth to both of her children here. Her son was even a patient here for several years. And her daughter wants to work here someday.

“The hospital and its mission mean a great deal to me. Giving back my time and money feels good and feels right. It fits in with the values I want to pass down to my children,” she says to explain why she made a large donation to the Guy Geoffrey academic fund and included it in her will. The fund provides grants to young neurologists so they can fine-tune their expertise abroad and enables specialists from other countries to round out their skills here at Sainte-Justine.

Thank you to Marie-France and her family for enabling Sainte-Justine to educate the physicians of tomorrow and thus ensure a healthier future for even more children.

Hélène DeCorwin

A family tradition that comes from the heart

“When you share what you have, there’s more to go around.” That was the philosophy embraced by Hélène DeCorwin, a woman of great determination and the mother of two daughters, who passed away in the fall at age 82. It was a philosophy that informed her decision to remember the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation in her will.

As a long-time donor, Mrs. DeCorwin always had a special place in her heart for Sainte-Justine’s healthcare professionals, whom she credited for saving her daughter, Sophie, after a serious accident at age 2½. Despite the severity of Sophie’s injuries and the critical state of her health, Mrs. DeCorwin never lost hope.

Today, Sophie is happy and healthy. She was honoured to share her mother’s story with us. “Her gift reflects the tradition of altruism that has always been important to our family,” she told us, with great affection.

On behalf of the children of today and tomorrow, thank you, Mrs. DeCorwin, from the bottom of our hearts.

Our Monthly Donors

There for our kids, 12 months a year

Last year, many of you joined our monthly giving program and became part of a community of nearly 3,000 generous donors.

François Rivest is one of these people. He made his first contribution in 1996 and has been a faithful donor ever since. “Life has been good to me. I have 3 children and 2 grandchildren, and everyone in our family is the picture of health,” he tells us. “My wish is to give back to those who have not been as fortunate and help find solutions for families who need them.”

We are honoured to be able to count on these amazing individuals who, month after month, make sure we have what it takes to keep doing more and keep doing it better. Thank you for being such a reliable source of support for the children and families of Sainte-Justine.
